Most moms are undeniably busy. Imagine juggling the kids’ needs, household chores, and for some, their business or work. If you are one of the busy moms (which most probably you are), I want to let you know that you are amazing, and you deserve some help even with the simple things you manage every day, such as your family’s meal.

You can now reduce your overloaded tasks by utilizing a good meal planning strategy. So, I am here to give you some valuable tips to make your life in the kitchen more manageable. Read on to learn how you can make your meal planning easier to reduce your stress and tasks.

Tip #1: Start by Making a Plan

Like with every project you do inside your house or your work, making a plan should always be the first step. Meal planning will allow you to save time from wondering what to serve for your next meal. Your plan should include what dishes you must cook for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is a handy tool, especially if you are always in a rush, because this way, you don’t have to waste minutes thinking about what to make.

Instead, you can just pull out your pre-prepared meal from the fridge and work continuously and fast. Depending on what’s more convenient for you, you can plan out your meal daily, weekly, or monthly.

Tip #2: List Down Everything You Need

Part of meal planning is to list everything you need for every meal you will make, from spices, condiments, sauces, cheese, proteins, spreads, bread, and others. This way, you don’t have to worry about any missing ingredients because you’ve already bought everything at once during your grocery shopping. Again, meal planning aims to save you time, and purchasing everything at once will make this goal possible.

Tip #3: Ask Help from Other Family Members

You don’t have to do everything on your own. Since the mouths you’re going to feed will be someone from your family, for sure, they wouldn’t mind if you asked for a bit of help from them. And since they know you’re busy, for sure, they will be glad to help.

Meal planning together can also serve as a way to bond with the family. It would be nice if they can raise any suggestions or meal recommendations, so you don’t have to think so much. While in the kitchen, you can get your kids to wash the dishes or make a salad and your partner to slice some ingredients. Through this, you’re creating a fun bonding experience in the kitchen while teaching your kids some basic life skills and food appreciation.

Tip #4: Make Extra Portions

The good thing about meal planning is that you can control the right amount of portions so you will not have any leftovers. However, you can still make extra portions when it comes to your ingredients. For example, you can slice many garlic or vegetables and store them in your fridge properly. Since you’ll most likely use them on other dishes, you’ll save extra time from chopping the next time you need it.

Conclusion

Meal planning is a handy technique for a busy mom like you. Whether you are a working mom, a stay-at-home mom, a work-from-home mom, or a mom to many, meal planning can make your life easier and your schedule less hectic. I know how busy you are, so I will always find a way to help you cope as a busy mom. Hopefully, these tips did help you and gave you an idea of how to make your schedule more manageable.
